Etiquette is a part of daily life. There's etiquette at the family dinner table, etiquette attending a theatre event, etiquette in writing and responding to email. Pin trading is no different. An etiquette has evolved over the years within the culture of pin trading. A wonderful article on pin trading etiquette has been published at the mypins.com pin site.

A copy of this pin trading artricle is attached to the CIPC site. The article was taken from http://www.mypins.com and the Calgary International Pin Club is grateful to help pass along this aspect of the pin trading culture to pin collectors everywhere.

Etiquette in pin trading includes protecting the CIPC's reputation. The following policy identifies what should not be displayed publicly during a CIPC event.

"No public display of any pin(s) that are racist, sexist, or discriminatory in nature at any CIPC events is allowed.”

The intent of this policy is not to infringe on freedoms or what members can collect. Instead, this policy mitigates potential conflict which can arise when pins deemed inappropriate are being displayed.
